Akards Acres Adem
(Adem)

Adem is an AKC Registered Anatolian Shepherd.  He was born on September 11, 2004.  His sire was Woody Acres Jonturk and his dam was Annie II of Akards' Acres.  Adem is an excellent Anatolian Shepherd with great livestock guarding instincts and a good natured disposition.  Adem would make a great livestock guarding dog.  We purchased him for breeding but he is not getting the job done.  Our loss, your gain.  If you are interested in purchasing Adem please call us at (972)524-8771 for more information.

Orthopedic Foundation for Animals Preliminary (Consultation) Report of a radiographic evaluation of pelvic phenotype with respect to hip dysplasia states that he has "excellent hip joint conformation"  (superior hip joint conformation as compared with other individuals of the same breed and age) at 15 months of age.  This is a preliminary report and the study must be repeated when the animal is 24 months of age or older for an OFA Number.  The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) web site reports that "A recent publication* compared the reliability of the preliminary evaluation hip grade phenotype with the 2 year old evaluation in dogs and there was 100% reliability for a preliminary grade of excellent being normal at 2 years of age (excellent, good, or fair)."
